All things vegan with some raw and gluten free thrown in the mix!

About Me April 11, 2010

Hello World!

My name is Katie Barlow and this is my blog!

Here is a little about me:

  • I am 28
  • I am married to the most wonderful man in the world
  • I live in Camarillo, CA
  • I have the cutest little puppy dog named Chester
  • I welcomed my first daughter in January of 2011 and am having such a fun time learning how to be the best mommy I can be.
  • I love to cook and am passionate about food and health
  • I am vegan with an interest in raw and gluten free foods
  • I strive to live a life with as little carbon footprint as I can and am always striving to be more eco-friendly than I am currently
  • I believe in buying everything all natural, organic, and made in the USA

I’ve decided to write this blog to chronicle my life as I strive to learn all there is about vegan, raw, and gluten free cooking, living eco-friendly, buying eco-friendly products, and hopefully teaching others a thing or two!

    Hi Katie,
I’m an ex Brit now living in Brisbane, Australia. I’m 53 (just!), vegetarian, have four children, I’m married to the most wonderful man in the world, have a large dog called Buddy and try to live my life the way you are living yours. Small world. Keep blogging, please.

  6. Hi Katie,
I love your blog!!! I found you via foodgawker and I’m so happy! I have recently chosen a vegan lifestyle, trying to eat gluten free where I can..gluten free is a little harder for me than being vegan. Your blog has given me so many new recipes to try which only motivates me more. It has also helped me in being more frugal and eco friendly. Which I also appreciate. It has also given me more blogs to follow, which I’ve been trying to find vegan, gluten free and raw blogs..they are hard to come by..well up until now! I just want to thank you so much for all your help in my new journey. I just started following you! Can’t wait for all the up and coming healthiness to add to my life! I’d love it if you checked out my blog sometime. Right now I don’t have many vegan/gf recipes but soon enough I’ll have plenty. I’ll be sure to link back to you many times!!! Thanks so much for your help and inspiration!!!!

hi there!! Came across your decadent gluten free vegan brownie recipe and am going to make a couple batches for my boyfriends birthday!! Question though…what did you use do grease the pan?? And do they come out that skinny/thin? Any way to make them thicker??

    • katiebarlow Says:

Hi! I use parchment paper because then I can just lift the brownies out of the pan and cut them. So much easier than greasing the pan! Also, if you double the recipe they come out much thicker!
